A New Path

Updated: Apr 9, 2025

Four months ago, I was drawn to researching mindful meditation and started learning more about Buddha’s Principles. I came across the Arizona International Buddhist Meditation Center and decided to try their meditation class. I did not know what to expect with my first visit, but realized afterwards, with their guided meditation, I was able to sink into a deep meditative state. The peacefulness after I left lasted into the next day. As I continued to attend the meditation classes, I experienced continued positive change. I did not always reach the same deep meditative state, but I started to feel a strong calling to undergo a change that resulted in a weight being lifted from my life and I was able to let go of a strong attachment I had. I started to feel that I was tapping into my true inner self, or rather, my true self was coming up from within. In the past month, I also had a positive experience when faced with what I would have previously considered a big problem or a stressor. I felt at ease with the situation, as it was out of my control. While I still cared about the outcome, I was not attached to the outcome. I believe that my relaxed nature was the result of meditation practice (even though I had only been practicing once a week). I look forward to continuing on the Direct Path, enjoying a peaceful daily flow, and hopefully, having a positive impact on others in my life.
